تقع شرم الشيخ أقصى جنوب شبه جزيرة سيناء في مصر، وتعدّ ميناءً معروفاً ومدينة سياحيّة مليئة بالمنتجعات، وتشتهر بكثرة مصممي البرامج السياحيّة والغوّاصين فيها، كما أصبحت لاحقاً من أكثر الوجهات السياحيّة شهرةً في العالم العربي، وواحدةً من أفضل مواقع الغوص حالياً. توسّعت شرم الشيخ حديثاً لتضم ثلاثة مناطق مختلفة وهي محميّة النبق والتي هي منطقة جديدة شمال منطقة نعمة، والسوق القديم، وقرية الهضبة جنوب خليج نعمة. كجزء من المدينة، يعد خليج نعمة مركزاً للحياة الليلية الصاخبة والطعام الشهي، حيث تتواجد فيها معظم نوادي شرم الشيخ ومطاعمها ومتاجرها ومقاهيها. أمّا خليج النبق فيقع على شبه جزيرة مطلّة على مضيق تيران ومدخل خليج العقبة. بالنسبة إلى المدينة القديمة ففيها بازار جميل والكثير من المطاعم التقليديّة، حيث تتلألأ شرم الشيخ مساءً بالأضواء، وغالباً ما تكتظ مطاعمها وحاناتها بالناس حيث يلتقي السيّاح لتبادل الأحاديث عن الجولات السياحية النهارية أو تجارب الغوص، بينما يحتسون مشروباتهم الباردة ويستمتعون بالمطبخ العالمي لشرم الشيخ؛ المدينة الوحيدة التي تقدّم كل ما يجب أن تشمله أي إجازة.
